Order Now >>Overview: Continuous Line Headsail Roller Reefing System
Avid yachtsmen will know that headsail reefing systems need to be hassle free and smooth. Sailspar have achieved this with their continuous line reefing system. Use the continuous line to turn the drum to unfurl, reef and furl away your headsail. Made from the highest quality marine stainless steel, aluminium and nylon, it comes with an extraordinary lifetime warranty and requires minimal maintenance.
The benefits of having a continuous line system to furl your headsail are:
- No tangles or fear of riding turns, which makes it safer
- Easier on your hands as you have a larger diameter rope
- Easier to stow as there are no long coils of rope in the cockpit
- Easier to control as the larger drum gives a better mechanical advantage
Clever and thought out design means:
- Installation and forestay adjustment is easy thanks to the integral Sta-Lok
- The larger diameter drum gives you extra leverage making it easier to furl your headsail
- It is easy to maintain and service, just rinse the internal stainless steel ball bearings with fresh water!
- If you don't want to install it yourself, we can do it for you but easy installation is all part of the design
For yachts sized from 17 – 40 feet long with maximum 8mm forestay width. We have 4 sizing options available based on forestay length and diameter, with 3 different gear sizes.
System of choice
It suits the Classic Yacht with its unobtrusive design and has been the headsail system of choice in the recent refit of "Nausikaa" Classic Boat September 2015.
Chris Charlesworth also chose the system for the refit of his supercharged Contessa 26 "Meow" as featured in the July issue of Yachting World.
"The ultra-low profile furler that enables Meow to take advantage of the rating benefit IRC gives to 130 per cent furling genoas was supplied by Sailspar in Colchester"

NS Systems / Shrimper System
The NS system, the variation to our small system, comprises of a drive unit, a torque tube, a number of foils, control rope, bottom toggle and a halyard turn block. It is this halyard turn block which varies from the small system. This system is designed for smaller boats as the halyard turns at the top of the foil 180 degrees and makes fast to the drive unit. This means that the jib does not need its own halyard as it is built into the system.
- Used for the Cornish Shrimper
- For sail areas up to 150 sq feet
- Maximum luff of 8 metres
- Stay of 4mm, 5mm or 6mm
